Jack is the fifteen year-old wielder of Xyber 9 and the leader of his crew. While staying at a refugee camp, an old man foretold Jack's future as the king who would reunite the people of Terrana and lead them to a brighter tomorrow. Although Jack initially scoffed at the prophesy, it wasn't long before he walked right into his fated path as a hero.
He is easily the most naive member of the cast, if not the most reckless. Jack sees 'good' and 'bad' as very separate elements so it's a bit shocking to him when he begins to realize that they often overlap each other. He's also very optimistic, though it's sometimes easy to forget when his sarcastic side rears its head. While Jack's goodness allows him to analyze events in a different light and earns him the admiration of his fellow Terranians, it also sometimes puts him at odds with his crew and, more often than not, throws him into needlessly dangerous situations.
Jack is an orphan; we can probably assume that this is a somewhat recent change in his life since he still has memories of his family and even the key to their house. Mourning his lost kin, Jack continually attempts to pull his crewmates together into a make-shift clan but they usually end up fighting with each other, instead. While Jack can't always control his familial situation, he's fully determined not to lose his 'home' in the New Valley.
The one person Jack depends on most in his life is actually a machine: Xyber. Most of the crew see the computer as nothing more than a very talkative mechanical device, but Jack understands that behind all the wiring there is sentience. He even seeks advice from Xyber- everything from battle tactics to trying to figure out girls. And, when needed, Xyber is more than capable of giving Jack a helpful pep-talk... or a proper scolding, whichever best fits the situation.
Although he still has a long way to go before he can become King (such as defeating Machestro) he's already making a name for himself as a kind and just leader among the populace of Terrana.
