Queen Tatania is one of the rulers fighting for power over Terrana. Quite opposite from King Renard, Tatania is very level-headed and acts with the safety of her crew and people always at the front of her mind. Skilled in tactical battle, Tatania spends a great deal of time directing her troops from the massive airship, the HMS Independence- but she also puts in her share of time with the ground battalions.
Though her general demeanor is stern and often a little cold, Tatania is a very caring person. This is most clearly seen in the almost motherly affection- and scoldings- she directs at Jack. And, much like a mother tries to reassure her child that there's no monster under the bed, Tatania frequently shows her controlled-frustration over Jack's insistence that Machestro is real. Being a rigidly practical woman leaves no place in mind for fairytales and other such nonsence.
Tatania’s main concern in the war is to crush Renard’s troops and end his reign of tyranny. Intent on ending the war as soon as possible, Tatania accepts help from any ally that will lend it. However, her dependence on Jack and his crew does not sit well with many of her soldiers- he's a friend of Renard's daughter, after all, and could be a spy. While Tatania is a much kinder and more balanced leader than Renard, she does not tolerate her authority being questioned- especially by her own troops; she remains an ally of Jack’s, no matter the cost to her reputation.
Outside his own crew, Tatania is Jack's strongest supporter and, perhaps, the best role-model he could have in regards to being a fair ruler.
