Willy is the calmest and most introspective character in the series. While Ikira may pass himself off as the wise, spiritually-inclined one, his tempermental outbursts quickly shatter that image. Willy, on the other hand, is always cool and collected- he simply doesn't allow stress to invade his life. He also doesn't talk very much, which gives him a lot of time to listen; because of his patience and somewhat impartial views, he's often able to give succinct and logical advice should someone ask for it.
Willy isn't the type of guy who relishes battle- although he's more than capable of taking out a small army if he needs to. Most of the characters seem to find some excitement in fighting, but Willy uses violence as a last resort- and only sparingly, at that. Willy fights when it has to be done but otherwise stays far away from conflict.
It's not exactly clear how long Mick and Willy have known each other but, judging by the way they act around each other, they've probably been friends for quite a while. Willy serves as the level-headed anchor to counterbalance Mick's exuberant kite-like qualities; he's able to keep Mick grounded through rational advice and/or sound threats. In return, Mick keeps him entertained.
Out of the entire cast, we know the least about Willy and his past; it makes for quite a mysterious character. Because Willy is so reserved and unobtrusive, it's sometimes easy to forget that he's even there- the only time we've ever seen him truly make a scene about something was when his bread was burning in the oven! But it's often the quiet and unassuming characters that have the most interesting histories- we'll have to keep writing for new episodes so we can find out!
Willy is a much needed addition to the team. His perpetual calm and straight-forward suggestions are always welcomed in a tense situation- not to mention his accuracy with ammunitions. Without Willy, the crew would have a much more difficult fight ahead of them.
