[XYBER 9]

Xyber 9 is the last remnant of the Xybers, a series of super-computers that were created to control the technology of the Ancients. Capable of doing everything from jump-starting a vehicle to unlocking secret vaults, Xyber is the ultimate tool in recreating- or destroying- Terrana.

Although Xyber looks rather unimpressive, merely a metallic ball on a stick, he contains an unlimited amount of knowledge in nearly every field imaginable. But more importantly, Xyber is the only machine on the planet that has true sentience; he makes decisions, forms opinions, and makes his preferences known. If things are not progressing in a manner he likes, Xyber informs anyone who will listen- this usually means Jack, as the others try their best to ignore his chatter.

While often long-winded and critical, Xyber can also be surprisingly insightful and caring. His incredibly long 'life' has given him a wide array of experience to pull advice from and he dispenses this advice with care- though, it's not usually used in quite the way he intended... His sensitive, and sometimes somber, side is usually displayed when he is in the middle of reminiscing over the Terrana that he was born to, many years prior. Xyber's occasional nostalgia is as genuine as that of any of his human counterparts, but sentimentality from a machine is a bit unsettling to most so they choose to write his 'feelings' off to faulty programming and the like.

Jack is the only one who truly sees Xyber as an equal being. However, this equality of mind does not deter Jack from using the computer as a pick, a sword, a club, a boomerang, and anything else that might seem fitting at the time. Xyber has suffered more dents and dings in his time with Jack than he has in the major span of his existence. If Machestro ever does get his hands on the machine, he'll be quite disappointed at the shape it's in.

Though a little irritating and often a bit crotchety, Xyber remains the most important of Jack's allies. The future of the world rests in this talkative machine's circuits.
