[LEXICON]

Because there is so little information about Xyber 9 online, it's important to catalog as much of it as we can before it completely disappears. That's what this page is for- sort of a quick reference for fans.

It's pretty sparce right now but I plan to add every bit of consequential data to this list that I can find. I'll update as often as possible but I wouldn't be opposed to a few helping hands- if you have information that's not listed here, please send it in! :)

A

Akitoalar'Kitosomate: Anakonda's real name, before it was replaced with Jack's easier-to-pronounce nickname. Pronounced Ah-KEET-oh ah-lar (tongue click) KEET-oh so-MAH-tay. (See Character Profiles for more information).

Anakonda: Slightly reptilian and possessing the ability to communicate with animals, Anakonda is very close to nature and has a distrust of technology. Though often gruff with Jack, she cares for him a great deal and is one of his most loyal friends. A fierce fighter with heightened senses, she has become invaluable to the team. (See Character Profiles for more information).

B

C

Chuck Truck: A mobile kitchen unit used in military caravans. In the first episode, one of Renard's soldiers refuses to let Jack hitch a ride on his tank for fear that he'll be punished with potato-peeling duty in the chuck truck. Mick and Willy's initial appearance also occurs within this vehicle, as they are responsible for preparing the platoon's meals.

D

Dark Lands: The forboding territory in which Jack found Xyber 9, considered by most as too dangerous to venture into. It is a large area consisting of a thick tangle of vegetation and the decaying ruins of an ancient civilization. It also houses some rather dangerous beasts and, assumedly, a tribal race (as suggested by Anakonda's presence in the area).

E

F

G

Gagaal: A large city under King Renard's rule. In the first episode, Jack tried to hitch a ride to Gagaal with one of Renard's passing platoons in hopes of finding a weapons master. Finally reaching the city, he meets Ikira and asks the man to become his mentor.

H

HMS Independence: Queen Tatania's massive airship. In the episode "Queen Tatania", a saboteur tried to take down the vessel from the inside by placing an explosive device in one of the ship's cannons. The plot was discovered in time and the Independence suffered relatively little damage.

Honk: An animal that Jack saved from a cruel officer, Honk looks like a mix between a bulldog and some kind of pig. He has a large horn on his forehead and two tusks that protrude upward from his lower jaw. He earned his name from the honking noise he makes.

I

Ikira: A former Machina soldier who was betrayed by his brethren and left to die, Ikira is an expert swordsman and Jack's mentor. Ikira is determined to inform the Machina that their sensitivity to sunlight is caused by a virus that can be cured but Machestro continues to stand in his way. (See Character Profiles for more information).

J

Jack: The main character of the series, Jack is prophesied to be the future king who will unite the warring domains of Terrana. Leading a group of ragtag vigilantes and possessing the ancient super-computer, Xyber 9, he must battle against the opposing forces of Machestro and King Renard. (See Character Profiles for more information).

M

Machestro: Cold and caculating, Machestro is the master villain of the series. Always on the heels of Jack and his team, Machestro is obsessed with obtaining Xyber 9's knowledge for himself- though he rarely engages in the hunt for it. Instead, he operates from the shadows, relying on King Renard and the Machina soldiers to track and capture the boy. Woe betide the man that fails him, as Machestro has no qualms torturing those who don't please him. (See Character Profiles for more information).

Machina: Soldiers who work for Machestro. They live underground to avoid light (an element they believe is deadly) and wear full body-suit armor, usually red. It is revealed in the episode "Ikira's Secret" that the Machina are actually infected with a virus that can be killed by direct exposure to sunlight. However, it's an extremely painful process. Ikira, a former Machina soldier himself, tries to explain this to the troops but he is silenced by Machestro, who keeps the malady hidden in order to keep his soldiers underground and fighting for him. Their goal is to blot out the sun entirely, making the surface world a more habitable place.

Mick: Cocky and sarcastic, Mick is an ex-soldier turned rogue mechanic for Jack's crew. Though it often seems that he is more interested in fortune-seeking than defending the helpless, he usually reveals his honorable side in times of great need. Working alongside his friend, Willy, Mick's mechanical know-how keeps the team's vehicles operational. (See Character Profiles for more information).

R

Renard, King: Father of Rosalyn and the main opposition to Queen Tatania, King Renard wants nothing less than absolute control of Terrana. However, Machestro is the one who is really pulling the strings, using Renard as a puppet. Even if Tatania's forces fall, Renard will still have to deal with Machestro and his army. (See Character Profiles for more information).

Rosalyn, Princess: Daughter of King Renard, Rosalyn is kept mostly in the dark when it comes to her father's dealings. It isn't until she meets Jack (and develops a strong crush) that she begins to question the king's integrity. Finally deciding to do what is best for her people, Rosalyn joins Jack's crew as an informant. (See Character Profiles for more information).

S

T

Tatania, Queen: Opposed to King Renard's tyrannical rule and operating mainly from her airship, the HMS Independence, Tatania is determined to purge his forces from the world. Though she does not fully believe Jack's stories about Machestro, she remains one of the boy's greatest supporters and an important ally. (See Character Profiles for more information).

W

Willy: Mick's comrade and the most muscled member of the team, Willy remains a rather mysterious character. Quiet and calm, even in the most dire of situations, not much has been learned of his past, yet. What we do know is that he has a knack for cooking and the ability to put up with Mick's often childish behavior. (See Character Profiles for more information).

X

Xyber 9: Unusually talkative and expressive, Xyber 9 is presumed to be the last remnant of a series of super computers. Depending on the wielder, Xyber could be used to restore or destroy Terrana- therefore, it's extremely important that it does not fall into Machestro's hands. (See Character Profiles for more information).
